PIRATES v. MILTON
On Good Friday a mixed team from the Pirates Football Club journeyed to Milton to try conclusions with the local team, the game resulting in a win for the former by 10 points (two tries) to 5. For the lo=ers Comber (the full-back) played a dashing game,, repeatedly saving his side. For the winner* Hislop was the pick of the backs, his passing being mainly responsible for the score registered. Both tries were scored by
Spairow, who al-o comertcd one a >d Hulopthe other. Of the Msitmg forwaids Sains and Jiwm played well. The Pirate-, returned 10 town we'l pleased with the hospitality extended to them by the home team. The th.mks jpf both clubs are due to the rcfeioo (Mr Jaeobson) for the impartiil manner in which he controlled the game.
KATKORAI v INVERCARGILL STAR. INVERCARGILL, April 5. The football match Kaikorai v. Star was won by the latter by 37 points to nil. The day was bright and rather warm for football. The visiting team were disappointingly weak, and the game was 'not interesting.
