PALMERSTON STOCK SALES

Messrs Da-lgety and Company (Limited) report having held their monthly sale at Palmerston on Monday, Ist inst. The yarding of sheep was the largest of the season," fully 3600 being penned. The greater number " comprised breeding ewes and lambs. Only a few pens of wethers were offered, and the most of them were withdrawn, the bidding failing to leach owners' ideas of values. Crossbred ewes met with a fair sale ?t full market rates, but lambs showed a distinct decline m values. We offered and sold on account of Mr C. S. Hay (Deepdell station), Messrs James Ritchie (Dunback), Wm. Dreaver (Palmerston), Hector M'Leod, W. Matheson, Charles M'Giegor, Jas. Patereon, John Douglas (Mount Royal), M'Kenny, H. O'Neill, T. W r alker, F. Bloxani, Wm. Little, James Chapman, A. Currie. Wm. Pearson (Palmerston), James Rice, A. Dp vis, P. Arnott, W. J. M'Culloch, M. Isbister (Dunback), L. Davis, and Wm. Pollock (Green Valley), James Dungey (Hillgiove), 1766 sheep, 29 lams, and 33 head of cattle st the following rates — Full-mouthed crossbred ewes, 12s to 14s 2d , four, six, and "eight-tooth ciossbred ewes, 14s Gd to 15s 31 , aged no, 8s 6:1 to lls 6d , crossbred lamba, 8s 6d to 10s B'l , Shropshire lams, l\g to 2}a:s , two and three-year-old bteer* £5 to £5 12s 6d, heifers, £4 to £1 15s, joung cattle, £2 10s to £3 15s , calves, £1 to £1 15s.
