THE BRITISH TROOPS IN THE FIELD

Though the forces in South Africa have been to a small extent reduced by the with drawal of the Household Cavalry Composite Regiment, a battery of Horse Artillery, and the City Imperial and other volnteers, Home anil colonial, the number- of the regular troops, Militia, Imperial Yeomanry, and Volunteer Service Companies of line regiments remain about the same as they have been since the last regiments were sent out early last year.
