IN MIMORIAM.
THE " HEED LADDIE." Two years ago this week the famous James Wyllie "passed away. He was buried on Apnl S, 1899. The following verses, published in the Aberdeen Free Piess shortly after V yllie's decease, are therefore appropriate — Draughts players a' owre earth's big ba' Will hsar wi' herts o' leid That Death ha 3 cad cor chier awa'— That aul' Jeems Wylhe's de*d JSfePniair we'll see his pawky smile, Nee mair oor plots he'll prod — The master he o' ilka wile O' Dameh's checkered brod. His genius for the canny game Was bricht beyond compare, A hoosehold word has been his name For fifty years and mair. Positions cabi'ied, cribbed, involved, His genus scon saw throu', And now the last dark problem's so'icd: He's reached the crowi b'Tp .100 -•J\mes Ogg.
