ISLA BANK.
March 29 — Harvest work is nearly finished now, and stooks are to be seen on some fields, but the many have all the crop in the stack. There is a really good crop in all low-lying ground, and never better in many field* where draining and other work of the farm was done in the proper way. It is raining more or less almost every day, but a breeze of wind soon removes the effects of the shower, and when lead-mg-in was started all pulled to the best of their ability, and few could be said to be wasting time. A little was shaken in some spots, but the loss will be trifling. The birds are doing come injury in some localities, but the loss will bo small. On high, ridgy ground the bulk will be small, but it is good grain. Oats are the main crop sown in this part of the country. Byegras3 seed was cut on several fields, but it was injured by the showery weather in too many cases. Stock of all kinds are thriving well, there being plenty of grass in most cases. Sheep and cattle are r?ther down in price, but times rniy improve soon. Late-sown turnips are doing extraordinarily well, and that -w-11 no doubt add to the wealth of the district.
