DREDGING IN VICTORIA.

The return from the Maori Queen dredge in Victoria for the week ending 16th February was 30oz 15dwt, which is stated by the manager to | be satisfactory. The ground is^ reported to be of good quality, and, fiom appearances, regular returns are anticipated appioximating that of ) the 16th. The construction of 'the No. 2 dredge •will possibly not be delayed. The Junction dredge made a fresh start on Monday, 18th February, after getting the steam winches fixed, ' and woTk will continue steadily, and good returns are expected. The Ovens River dredge is expected to be afloat and at work again shortly. >

The Secretary of the Golden Link Dredging Company Teports a return of looz lOdwt for 121 hours' dredging.

The return from the Earnscleugh No. 2 is B7oz lOdwt for 125 hours.

The Secretary of the Gold Queen Dredging Company reports a return of 16oz Bdwt for 129 hours.

The Secretary of the Inch-holme Gold Dredging Company reports a return of 13oz 19dwt for 119 hours. The dredgemaster reports the ground good. The dredge stopped during the week for boiler inspection and relipping the Buckets.

The Secretary of the Inch Valley Gold Dredging Company reports a return of 13oz 3dwt for 126 hours.

The Dredgemaster of the Miller's Flat Electric Dredging Company reports a return of 6oz 12dwt. The dredge stopped for repairs to the elevator.

The Secretary of the Tuapeka Dredging Company reportß a return of 18oz 16dwt for the week ended Friday, Ist m&t.

The Secretary of the Globe Gold Dredging Company reports a return of 12oz 12dwt for 232 hours. The dredgemaster states that they will coon be through the old Chinese workings and into solid ground, when better results will be obtained.

The Secretary reports that the Second Magnetic dredge's return for the week ended Marcli 2 is Boz lOdwt for 163 hours' dredging.
