THIRD-CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP,
The match Hendley No 2 v. Grange No. 1 was played on the Oval, and resulted in a win for the Hendley by 112 runs. Hendley, batting first, closed their innings with six wickets down for 127 runs. E. Torrance (48) and J. Torrance (25 not out) batted freely, while Graham (14) and Stewart (11) also reached double figures. Grange, on going in to bat, could only make 15 runs against the bowling of R. Torrance (six for 9) and C. Stewart (three for 6). Methodist Central Mission met and defeated Dunedin No. 1 on the Caledonian ground by 65 runs. Dunedin, batting first, could only make 29 runs against the bowling of A. Beck (five for 12). Central "Mission compiled 94- runs, A. Beck (24), A. Payton (23), and Watt (18) batting well. For Dunedin, Ackroyd and Newton bowled well. High School claim the match against Grange No. 2 by default.
