A TRESPASS CASE.

CHRISTCHURCH, February 28.

In the Supreme Court Judge Denniston gave judgment in the case Canterbury Jockey Club against Patterson, a bookmaker, a claim for damages for trespass on the course. The case involved the question whether the club had the right to exclude persons from the course. Judgment was given for the plaintiff club for £5, with costs. Proceedings were stayed in order that an appeal could be made, conditional on its being prosecuted at the next sittings of the Court of Appeal.
