Moiavian, were not opened till we reached our first |f**§3 camp at Sterkstroom. The men enjoyed it very much ; and as the water supply Ttjjfc- was not pure, and the camp was a hcjt-becl for enteric (our base hospital some- Ifca-w 1b43 times having as many as 140 cases;, you can imagine what a God-send your p"J^ |p**Sij most estimable beverage was to us. Many of us drank nothing else. p"4-sj I was enabled, owing to your liberality, to dispense hundreds of boxes Rsjw amongst our comrades in the Imperial army, of whom there were upwards of Ibnw |t*US 2000 in the field at Sterkstroom alone.
