PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The regular monthly meeting of the Penin>» sula Road Board was held at the board's office, Highcliff, on Saturday; present — Messrs Riddell (chairman), Stuart, Walker, M'Curdy, Ross, and Green..' The clerk was instructed to write informing the Portobello Road Board that a (fence on the present road under repair would be required! to be removed, and that the surfaceman would resume his duty when the obstacle is removed. The board's surveyor wrote stating that he had) inspected the contract at Sandymount, and had passed the work as satisfactory. It waa resolved to metal the new road at Sandymount, , and the matter was left in the hands of the chairman for completion. Air M'Curdy was authorised to instruct the surfaceman to repair drain pipes at Anderson's Bay to carry) ' the water from the Main road through Mr . "White's properly. Accounts amounting to £95 . 15s 6d were passed, for payment. A special meeting of the Peninsula Roacl Board was held on Saturday to consider what ' steps should be taken to restrain the Ocean. Beach Domain Board from using the Sandhills ' as a depot for the reception of nightsoil. The members present were — Messrs Riddell (chairman), Stuart, Walker, JJ'Curdy, Ross, and G-unn. It was resolved that Mr White be appointed! solicitor to prosecute in an action to be brought by the Solicitor-general at the instance of the inhabitants of the Peninsula and Tomahawk^ Road Board districts, and the Borough of St. Kilda against the Ocean Beach Domain Boarcl for the purpose of obtaining an injunction to restrain the latter from using the land described! in the first part of the schedule of " The Ocean. Beach Domain Act, 1892," or any part of such! land, for the reception of nightsoil from the City of Dunedin and suburban hproughs of Caversham, South Dunediu, Roslyn, Mornington, and the North-East Valley.
