OU R RETURNING SOLDIERS. RECEPTION OF THE HARLECH CASTLE'S MEN.

Mr T. W. Kempthorne (chairman of the Organising Committee) last evening received the following telegram from the Right Hon. the Premier from Kuinara : —

" I have received the following" communication from the Secretary of State, through his Excellency the Governor: — ' Instructions will be given for the Harlech Castle to land the men at Dunedin. The steamer should be there about v the 6th December, as she is due at Melbourne to-day. No doubt you will take steps to accord our sons, on their return from South Airiea, a fitting reception. Any further information received will be forwarded on its receipt."

Mr Kemplhorne at once pent the following reply: —

"To the Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, Kumara, — Thanks for telegram. I will confer with his Worship the Mayor, Mr James Mills, and other members of the Patriotic Committee. You need have no anxiety respecting the reception and welcome that the Dunedin people will give to our South African volunteers on their return."
