OAMARU, December 2,
At a largely attended meeting of producers and merchants three resolutions were carried — the first, proposed by the Hon. H. J. Miller, that the meeting approve of the Government's suggestion to subsidise a steam service to South Africa ; the second, moved by Mr Borrie, that Oamaru be made one of the ports of call ; and the third, moved by Mr T. Mackenzie, M.H.R., that the Government of South Africa be urged to continue the present tariff concessions on agricultural produce.
