There is very little new in mining matters. The Central Mataura Company's prospecting dredge has been re t moved to No. 2 claim, on the Mataura, and will commence prospecting in a day or two. Several fairly heavy nuggets of 2dwt or more have been secured by the- little dredge lately. The Wainmmu returns, those of the Extended and Central especially, are getting bstter. , t December 3r The Waikaka Queen dredge will commence work this week. " ' Mr Molineaux, until recently employed on the Charlton Creek dredge, has been appointed manager of the Waikaka Forks. It is reported that the Central Mataura Company's prospecting dredge, which shifted to No 2 claim on the Mataura last week, is striking splendid prospects.
