Notes from Cromwell. (From Our Own Correspondent.) CROMWELL, November 30.

( The Shepherd's Creek dredge has a considerable amount of machinery aboard. The buckets, screen, tables, and bottom tumbler have yet to be put in position. A dam is being made at the building site, and she will start dredging as soon as she is finished. Two loads of timber for the Jiannockburn Creek dredge went through yesterday, A good lot of machinery is now on the ground, but none has been put aboard yet. Fair progress has been made with the construction, of the Smith's Creek pontoons. December 3. I hear that the Rolling Stone dredge is on good gold. Several of the dredges about Cromwell are expected to close down shortly. Two loads of timber are on the ground for the Prince Albert claim at Albertown. The ladder for the Bannockburn Creek went through to-day. An examination for engine-drivers' certificates will be held here on tlie 14th and 15th. The pontoons of the Lady Cardrona are making good progress. Tacon's Cardrona has nearly all the machinery aboard, and should not be long before getting to work. The staff engaged in fitting her machinery go to the Cardrona No. 1. The "White Star dredge has been decked, and is being prepared to receive machinery.
