UNIVERSITY COUNCIL.
: The ordinary meeting of the Universu/ Council was held on Monday, and was attended by Dr Hocken (chairman), Professor Sale, Professor Shand, Dr Burns, Messrs T. K. Sidey, D. White/ G. G. Russell, and H. ! Clark. The Finance Committee recommended that accounts amounting to £649 10s lid be passed 1 for payment. The debit balance at -the bank ' was £602 2s 6d. The committee reported having received a report ' from -the registrar on j his recent visit to the Forest Hill run, and recommended' that Mr Hay's offer be accepted I —viz., £40 per- annum for' l4- years, subject to conditions as to resumption for mining purposes, and valuation for fencing. I The report was adopted.
