DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.
Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows : — There was a rather small entry of horses at our sale last Saturday. The attendance of farmers was fairjy large, and prices realised were highly satisfactory. Draughts : There were a few useful animals in this class ; the top price reached was £55. Light harness horses and hacks: There was a fair entry of these, and prices ranged from £11 to £34, the 1 latter price being paid for a four-year-old *14 stone hack, which has been shown six times, and has taken six first prizes. Spring-carters: Only a small entry and few sales ; prices from £L 9to £31 10s. The sale was held early in the forenoon, Saturday being a race day. Next week we will get into the usual routine again, and start the sale at 12 noon. We quote: — Superior young draught geldings, £47 to £50; extra good, prize horses, £55 to £65; medium draught mares and geldings, £36 to £42 ; aged draiight mares and geldings, £22 to £32; upstanding carriage horses, £25 to £35 ; wellmatched carriage pairs, £60 to £80; strong spring-van horses, £25 to £32; milk-cart and butchers' order-cart horses, £16 to £28; tram horses, £14 to £20; light backs, £10 to £12; extra good hacks, £18 to £28; weedy and aged hacks and harness' horses, £2 to JES.
