Shabeiioldek (Riverbank Gold Dredging Company). — The secretary informs us that the dividend coming to shareholders will be declared this week. Shareholders who may think there has been delay in this matter must bear in mind that there are a number of formalities to be complied with in the process of liquidation, and that the payment of the dividend must necessarily be the very last step in winding up the company. , The directors of the "Wainiangaroa River Gold
Dredging Company have instructed their consulting engineer to commence operations to bore the claim without delay. The result of this work will be looked forward to with much; interest. It is understood that a party of men are winning an average of £10 per week by a very primitive method of working in a claim . adjoining the company's property. The Klondyke dredge shut down last week, the directors considering that the prosxject3 did not justify them in going on any furlher without consulting the shareholders. The Pleasant Valley Company washed up last week for lOoz 13dwt for a fortnight's work. The Undaunted Company, Matakanui, washed, up 1660z 14dwt for the month of October. The Alexandra Herald understands that tha New Alexandra dredge has been shut down, pending the decision of a meeting of shareholders, to be held shortly. The Grey River Argus cays that work on tha New River dredge is progressing rapidly. The machinery is on the giound, and, accordingto appearances, everything is expected, to be in ship-shape and in working order in a fortnight. Messrs Tonks and Norton will sell by auction! ■at Chrislchurch on Tuesday, December 11. the whole of the Tarawera Mining Company's claim: at Preservation Inlet, together with, water right, tools, etc. The annual meeting of shareholders in tiio Inch Valley Gold Dredging Company will be held on Monday evening. 1 The Dunedin Stock Exchange will observe I Thuisday Friday, and Saturday of this week i as holidays.
