LONG VALLEY GOLD DREDGING COMPANY.
The following is the report of the directors of the Long Valley Gold Dredging Company,to be presented at the first annual meeting of shareholders, to be held at Lawrence on the 3rd, December: — '" The directors submit herewith accounts for the 12 months ending 31st October, 1900. Steady progress is being made with the building of the dredge pontoons, all materials for which are on the ground. Machinery is well advanced, and will be ready for erection when the pontoons are launched. Engines, etc., ordered from England, are landed and ready for erection. It is proposed to have the dredge ready to start work by the end oi February or early in March, to meet the low river, and by this means ensure favourable conditions for commencing operations. Messrs J. Howard Jackson and Edward Herbert retire from the board, arid, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election. It will be necessary to appoint an auditor for the present year. Mr H. H. Leary offers himself for reappointmerit." 1 The balance sheet shows that there still remains of uncalled capital.
