OWNERS' REMINDERS. December 20.— Tuapeka nominations. HEW PROGRAMMES.

The programme issued by Mr J. J. G-ibson, for the Tuapeka Club's races on the 16th and 17th Jantiary is, in its main features, very lika last season's. The Hack Handicap stake is raised to 20sovs ancl welter weights are provided for; the Novel Race of 25sovs supplant 3 th > Tuapeka Trot of 20sovs ; the s President's Handicap is raised to 30sovs ; the Shoits Handicap is raised to 20sovs; and there are a few transpositions of order of the races. The alterations involve a rise of stakes by 20sovs. As before, the chief events are the Lawrence Handicap and the Jockey Club Handicap, each of 40sovs. The stakes are to be paid in full. Mr Dowse is engaged as handicapper, Mr B. Hart as starter, and Mr A. M. Eyes as judge. Nominations for all handicaps on this attracti\£ programme are due on the 20th December. A sporting man notes that " One- of the passengers of the s.s. Papanui, which arrived at Plymouth on Saturday last, was the four-year-old New Zealand horse Screw Gun, by Hotchkiss, out of Rose of ' Wellington. A. chestnut colt of the highest clas3 in his own. country, where he won ten races out of twelve attempts for Mr G. G. Stead, Screw Gun is now the property of Sir E.
