DUNTROON.

November 26. — A committee meeting was held in the Mission Room on Wednesday evening to meet the Ladies' Guild to see what was ■""wanted at the hands of the Working Committee in the way of getting up stalls. "It was resolved that a special train be run from Oaniaru, and the Garrison Band be asked to play at the opening of the bazaar, which is to, commence on December 6th and continue to the Bth. The proceeds of this bazaar, after £10 has been expended on an altar cloth, are to be handed over to the vestry for the minister. Given good weather this affair ought to be a great success. Water Reserve. — I see that the water reserve has been applied for, and declined by the Land Board. I thought it might have been let for grazing, as it is no rise at present 'except to the applicant. I should (fancy it was more nuisance than good, as anyone driving stock past it is bothered by them making for it. If it was fenced in there would be less trouble. Most settlers have wells. Weather. — The weather during the past fortnight has been very changeable — wind, rain, hail, and frost, a few mornings being more like July than - November. However, the past three days have beer better. We could do with a fortnight' s' warm weather now. Agricultural. — Farming seems not to have been delayed much, as most farmers are busy with their turnip land. Some of the early wheat is ' in the shot blade.
