A GRATEFUL SYNOD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, November 22.

The Wesleyan Wanganui District Synod unanimously passed a resolution recording their gratitude to God that the war in South Africa was being brought to a close, and their conviction that the -Avar was rendered inevitable by the determination of a corrupt oligarchy to wipe out British supremacy. Also expressing their unqualified admiration of the valour and gallantry* of the colonial contingents, who rallied so nobly round the British flag in the' hour of need, and conveying their sympathy to the bereaved «y the death of our Brave men.
