A meeting of the Otago nnd Southland Farmers' Union is called foi the 29th inst., the dat« being fixed to .suit farmers attending the Agricultural Society's show. All farmers from the different districts are invited to attend and take part. Mr H. Cameron, who is credited with very .uccessfully represented the Tuapeka Agricultural Society at the New Zealand Conference, held recently in Wellington, will preside. Major Cradock, of the second contingent", j in the course of a letter to Mrs Adank, Westj port, with reference to the death of Trooper j Poole, says, inter alia: — " Arrangements hav^ been made to put a headstone up on his grave, and if by 'any possible means I can get a photograph of his last resting place I will send it to you. I fear, however, it, will bo almost impossible, sc please do not set any store on getting it." This shows that the graves of our gallant soldiers who die in South Africa are well looked 'after by comrades*
