Oats have improved somewhat the last week, . ~ owing to the Government calling for tenders , for 5000 tons ; but," considering' the quantity on. , hand,- this should not take long to fill. It is, however, impossible to say how far it may, effect the market. To-day we quote: Prime 1 milling, Is 6d to Is 6|d ; good sound feed, Is 56L to Is s|d ; long feed, Is id to Is 5d (ex store). Chaff, if really prime, meets with ready sale at up to £2 12s 6d, but inferior quality is, on the other hand, slow of sale.
