THE GOLDEN" GUTTER DREDGING COMPANY.
An extraordinary general meeting of snareholders in the Golden Gutter Dredging Company (Limited) was held at the company's o£&ce> on Wednesday for the purpose of considering the position of the company generally. Mr Hugh." Adam (chairman of directors) presided, and 16 shareholders were present, 23 others being represented by proxy. The Chairman explained what had been done bjj vendors in the way of prospecting the claim*, and read Mr Edward Kobexts's report, giving tabulated statement of the result of bores. Ha also stated that "the board had decided to abandon the present claim, and that it had been suggested that instead of going into liquidation the company should acquire another .claim. • Mr B. Greenwood thought it great pity jhat a company with such a strong share list should go into liquidation, and considered that the proper thing to do was to acquire another claim. With this object he moved—" That the meeting be adjourned for two anonths." Mr John Wright seconded the motion, which", on being put to the meeting, was.carfied unanimously. , ' Mr Thomas Johnstone moved— " That tha vendors be notified that their claim has beem abandoned." Mr G. H. Robinson seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. In reply to a question, the Chairman stated that theie .were several clairhs under ofEer to the company.
