LITTLE FOLK'S RHYMES.
By Dicky Donovan.
No. V.— DOT LEADS THE WAY. There's a name in the south that's in everybody's mouth (That's Dot, I may incidentally pay), For the biggest page about, there's not the slightest doubt, Dot leads the way. Seven hundred, you'll understand, are membars of the Band; They're now increasing every^day — From the south to the north the answer echoes forth, Dot leads the way. What a fine lot they are, you'll have to travel far To find their equal, I can safely say. They're a credit to the Band, and to dear old Maorilaad, Where Dot leads the way. Harry, Shan, B. O. 8., Maidey, Ziska, Kimber Lee, Roby, Con, Boy — they're a fine airay ; With Maggie, Wullie, and Doreen, it's very plainly seen Why Dot leads the way. Then, of course, ycu know, there's the famous Solly Slow, Ismene, Pa-uline, Laddie, and Little May. Cooee, Priscilla, Fancy Free, now I think you'll all agree That Dot leads the way. In this enlightened age every paper has its page, The Witness is the foremost of the day. We're ganie the world to meet, they can't our record beat, For Dot leads the way. Waiorongomai, Featherston, October, 1900.
