CLUTHA STOCK SALES

Messrs Matheson, Praia, and Co. 'report- — We held our -usual fortnightly sale at this centre on Friday last. There was a very largo entry ol cattle, ancl a good yaidmg of sheep. The attend? n^e of those interested was good, and the demand for all classes of stock was quite up to the usual, and mostly all lots offered changed hands at satisfactory prices. Pume cattle sold at up to £9, good stores and bullocks up to £7, good spayed heifers up to £6, prime sheep up to 19s, good stores up to 14s 13 d, ordinary hoggets at 12s lo lis, pigs at 5s to 8s 3d. We yarded 53 head cattle, 370 sheep, and 3 pigs, and sold for Zvlesars C-f. Fisher, S. Wright, Saigincon and Son, Muir, and Burley, A. M'Loan, T. Soper, Moff.at' s tuifetees, and others at quotations. Privately, since last report, we have sold at this and other centres 3855 freezing and store sheep 13U0 ewes, 000 hoggets, 290 head cattle, and 25 horses.
