HAWKE'S BAY SPRING MEETING. First Dat — Mondat, October 8. Tho Hawke's Bay Jockey Club, were favoured with ideal weather for the first day's racing of their Spring meeting. The attendanae was large, and the fields good, but in most events the public managed to pick the winners, so that the dividends were small. The finishes, however, were good, except in the Guineas, where Renown cantered home, though he put up record time for the race. The amount nut through the machine was £4-532.
