September 24. — During the past few weeks the weather has on the whole continued very dry, and as a, result farming operations are a long way ahead this season. Most of the grain crops are pown, and attention will in a phort lime be given to the planting of potatoes'. Young gra c s is coming away well, and promises soon to be abundant in the neighbourhood. T.0.6.T. — The twenty-fifth anniversary of Welcome All Lodge, 1.0.G-.T., was celebrated hv a, foirce held in the old school building at Woodside last Wednesday evening. The weather being iii;e, there was a large attendance, particularly oi young people. The room wa/j tastefully decorated for the occa?ion with evergreens and appropriate temperance mottoe?. The chair was occupied by Bro. D. C. Cameron, G.S., and after ample justice had been done to the refreshments provided for the occasion, the .meeting- was addressed bjf tLua tsbairmai\ aad by; the Bey.

Mr Fairrnaid, of Berwick, also by Mr Charles Watt, Mr Clossum (Dunedin), and Bro. J. W. Jago (Dunedin). An apology was read from the lodge at Outram, expressing its regret at not being able to send a delegate on the occasion. Songs were contributed during the evening by Mis F. M'Diarmid (who presided at the harmonium), and also by Misses Hislop and Oliv&r and Mr Black. A recitation wa 1 * also contributed by Miss Andrew. Votes of thanks to the delegates and visitors and to the members of Welcome All Lodge for the kindly manner in which they bad entertained the delegates and visitors wore proposed by Si&. E. M'Diirmid and Mr Charles Watt, and were carried by acclamation. The meeting was brought to a clofe by the pronouncing of the benediction.
