THE ECLIPSE GOLD DREDGING COMPANY.

The first annual meeting of the above was held m the Lawrence Council Chambers on Friday, when about 16 shareholders were present. Mr E. Herbeit (chairman of directors) presided. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, which wore taken ps read, the Chairman said that according to their contracts the dredge phould have been working in March or April, but they had found, •with oihev companies, that it was simply impossible to get the machinery completed sooner. Ihey, however, had kept at their engineer and contractor, and he was pleased to be able to miorm them that all their machinery (with the exception of tho boiler) would go foiward this month. The pontoons hrd been launched, and were satisfactory. Since the balance sheet 'had been made out a considerable sum ba.' 1 been expended on the plant, making a total up to date of £2754. Mr B. Hart seconded the motion for the adoption of the ioport, which was carried. Alessi s E. Herbert and F. .Nicoll were re-elected directors, and Mr J. C Ar buckle auditor. The remuneration of tho directors was fixed at JE3O tor the past year's work, and the same amount for the ensuinoyear.—Tuapeka Times. °
