The meeting held on Thursday, September 13, was attended by Messrs J. M'lntyrc {\n the chaii), A. Baldey, and D. King.

The Surveyor-general notified his approval of withdrawal oi temporary reservation tiom municipal reserves in Dacre township, and their being opened to selection as village homestead allotments — deceived.

Warden Stratford reported on the application oi the Waikaka Church Committee for 14 acres of section 14, block XIV. He had no objections and he knew of no objections. — Received.

R. Paterson, secretary of the Waikaka Church Committee, withdrew his application for a manse sits cut of section 14, block XIV, Chaiton. — Withdrawal accepted.

Henderson and Batger, for D. Gillanders, applied for renewal of lease of section 63, block I, Wendon, for a further term of three years. — Granted at same rent.

M. L. Spratt wrote stating that the whole of section 16, block XIV j Chatton, had been taken up as special claims, and asked if he could still use the surface available for grazing, if not that he be allowed to remove the fencing erected Uy him. — To be informed that the board has no power to allow him to use the land for grazing, but he is at liberty to remove fencing.

Titles were ordered to be issued to Mpi'v E. Popham, defeired payment sections 8 and 9, block XIV, Hirstfield, and Wm. Templeton, perpetual lease sections 34 and 42, Hodgkinson township. The following transfers were granted: — Sections 30 and 31, block 11, Seaward Bush township, from Ernest Pope to Thomas Rodgers; section 13, block IX, Manapoiiri township, from Halsled Kennett to (Mrs), E. M. P. Dore. Three other applications were held over for various reasons. Sections 67 and 68, block 11, Seaward Bush township, were forfeited, and the license of sections 6 and 7, block V, Holmesdale village, cancelled. The Wallace County Council submitted schedules of thirds and fourths accrued from May 1 1 to July 31 (£209 19s 2d), and proposed expenditure thereof; the Southland County Council, £213 Ss Bd, and on behalf of the Invercargill Road Board, £23 10s Bd.— Held over for a month. Ranger Traill reported- having taken po=sesI sion of section 143, block I, Paterson district. — Lsrnd to be re-opened. Ranger Traill also reported inspection of lands held over seven years under cash applications, showing that in four cases no improvements Had been made, and m one on which sufficient will be effected in a few weeks. — Received. The board then adjourned to 10 a.m. on Monday, 17th iust.
