WAITATI.
St-sDtembej IS.— The directors of the Bhiesitiii A. and P. Society, m revising the piogramme foi their show, to be held on Boxing day this year, m Mr Colehan's paddock, Wai" tati, as on formci occasions, have made a new departure, by introducing an important section in the \lar>s for coachers and hacks, to the effect that prises are to be given foi "gelding o. marc best adapted for mounted rifle work, not necessarily to be the property of any member of s mounted corps." Mi F. Stiouach, of Dunedm, was the mover of the motion and originator, I believe, of the very excellent idea. Some other up-to-date alterations in the programme have been made — as, for instance, exhibits m each class to be judged by one jtidtje in place of three. Those who judge will be offered their expenses, for it lias been considered \rory unfair, if not improper, that experts, no matter how wishful they may be to see such societies advance and succeed, who give thentime and. matured services, should be out of pocket also. A new section has been inserted in connection with spring cart horses, and othci necessary variations made. The new programmes will be punted m the course of a few days, when the secretary will ha' c much pleasure in forwarding one oi more, at the csse may be, to any applicant.
