The latest neAvs from the fourth and fifth contingents came to hand to-day. A friend of mine hsa receiA r ed a letter, dated 20th July, from Mauzinyama. Avhich is halfAvay between BubAvayo and Fort Tuli. A NeAV Zealand mail had just then came to hand. The writer says : — '' There is universal rejoicing at the change of command, Major DaA'is being a very smart officer, and very AA'ell liked. At the time of wiiting both the men and horses Aveie getting into good form."'
