NURSE NEWLEY, OF WOODSTOCK HOSPITAL, CAPETOWN. Nurse Newley is a Southland girl. She was trained in the Wellington Hospital for three years, going to England four years ago to gain further experience. She was one of the nurses chosen by Princess Christian, and sent out to Africa by the Axmy Medical Staff. She is the daughter of the late John Cotton Newley, Avondale, Southland, and granddaughter of the late Archdeacon Mathias, of Akaroa, who came to Canterbury in 1852.
