ALEXANDRA, September 4,

At an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the Golden Star Dredging Company, held at Roxburgh last night, the motion re acquiring new ground was withdrawn, it being stated that one of the vendors declined to sign the agreement. The meeting to consider the advisableness of liquidating the company will be held on Thursday, 13th inst. The directors have rescinded the first call, struck some time since. The Molyneux still keeps falling slowly. A good deal of snow fell on the ranges last night and early this morning. Fittmg-up operations on the Golden Link dredge, I understand, are temporarily suspended till the hull is properly floated and on an even keel. Mbre planking for the Fraser Fist dredge arm ed to-day. September 5. There is a further slight but perceptible fall in the Molyneux to-day. The upper framing on the First Chance Company's pontoons is going up well. The Eureka dredge is overlnuling. The erection of nip chin ery on the Sailors' Bend dredge is going steadily onward. ' September 6 The Molyneux is about 2ft above normal. The Eureka dredge during the present stoppage for repairs will put on a new screen. The screen for the Molyneux Hydraulic dredge is to hand, and will be jrat iv position immediately. Dredging should be commenced shortly: More timber for the Alexandra Lead pontoons was delivered to.-day. A portion o£ ihe framing of one pontoon has yet to be erected. The Unity dredge stopped owing to the screen driving gear giving way. At the last meeting of the Last Chance shareholders a resolution was also passed that in the event of the directors not agreeing to sell the contracts, and the vendors not defraying the cost of piospecting, this meeting ask the directors to call a;i extraordinary general meeting of the company with the view to liquidating it. September 7. The Molyneux is, if anything, a little uncle 2ft above normal. Another batch of first-class returns is ex pected to-morrow. September S. The Molyneux is still falling, and is no-n slightly, under 2ft above normal. More timber for the Fraser Flat pontoon-

The Chatto Creek dredge lesumed work on JTriday after receiving a thoiough overhaul.
