THE STOKE ORPHHNAGE INQUIRY.

Brother John, head of the Alarist Brothers' Order for Australasia, states that he is bringing Brothers Loetus, Wybertus, and Kilian back to New Zealand from Sydney, in order to give them an opportunity to answer any charges that the* Government may bring against them in connection with their conduct of the Stoke Orphanage.
Mr Thomson, M.H.R., has. had an interview with the Hun. Mr Hall-Jones regarding the extension of the survey of the Catlins line from Ratanui southwards. The Minister says that for the last six months a surveyor has been engaged taking heights and gradients and generally in looking ovit for the best route from Waimahaka northwards, and that there is every probability that next year the whole line between Waimahaka and Ratanui will be authorised.
