CHRISTCHURCH, September 5. The entiies of stock at Addington to-day were rather better than they have been during the past few weeks, and the attendance of buyers was good. Fat Cattle. — 165 head yaided, and the maiket opened sjt about last week's rates ; but when the sale was about half way through prices eased off somewhat. Steers brought from £7 5s to £11 ss, and up to £13 2s 6:1 for exceptionally good animals ; heifers, £5 to £9 ; and cows, £4 10s to £8 7s 6d, and up to £9 2s Gd for extra good. Prune beef was worth from 24s to 26s 6d per 1001b, and medium to good 18s to 235. Store Cattle — These met with faiily good demand, among the sales being 72 four-year-old steers at £6 7s Gd; three-year-old steers, £i Is; two-year-old heifers, £2 6s to £2 10s; fifteen-months-old mixed sexes, £1 13s to £2 9s ; dry cows, £2 to £3 ss. Fiit Sheep. — These were better represented as

regards numbers than at last week's market. For all good lines, mling lates were well mam- ; tamed, but m many lines theie weie unfinished sheep, which caused prices to vary considerably. Heavy-weight wethers brought iioni 20s to 25s 9d; freezing lines, 17s to 20s; light and unfinished sorts, 15s 7d to IGs 9d ; merino wethers (fieezing lines), 16s to ISs Cd , other-soits, 13s 7d to 15s 9d ; butchers' ewes, IGs to IBs 6d. Fat Lambs. — Thirty weie yaided, prices ranging from 11s Gd to ISs. Store Sheep. — About 2000 were entered, and all sorts met vath a good inquiry. Hoggets sold at from 12s 9d to 14s 10c], a line of 111 leaching the latter figure, while 128 lealised 13s Cd, and a similar number 12s 9d. Among other sales were 189 crossbred wethers at 15s 7d; 500 merino wethers, at 10s lid to 11s; 100, at 10s Gd; 200 wethers, at 15s Id, and 121 ewes and lambs (all counted) al lls. Pigs. — There was a large yarding of pigs, which sold at about last week's rates. Baconeis made from 32s Gd to 39s Cd ; poikers, 23s to 30s ; stores, 12s to 18s ; and suckers and weaners, 7s 3d to lls Gd. Prices were equal to 3Jd to 3Jd per 1b for baconers, and 3kl lo 3Jd ior porkers.
