CUSTOMS RETURNS.
The Dunedin Customs House had a record month's business during August, and goods were cleared to the net amount of £54,253 17s 3d, as compared with £41,219 2s Id for August of last year. The beer duty yielded. £1989 12s lid, against £1422 16s 7d for the corresponding month of last year. The following table will give some idea of the relative amounts collected on the principal items in the list of dutiable goods : —
