STEWED PRUNES.

Wash 2lb of prunes. Put lib of sugar into a pan with one quart of water. Boil this for five mimites. Then add the fiuit, also a few shrecls of lemon peel and half an inch of cinnamon. Let all simmer till the fruit is quite soft. Sometimes it will take as much as two hours. Caieiully lift out the fruit and reboil the syrup ti.l it is as thick as cream. Pour it over the fiuit and leave till cold.
