partment, (stating that a party of 40 immigrants are on their way out from Lancashire, and more are to follow.
Walter George Williams appeared at the Police Court on the 22nd on a charge of stabbing Frank Perrott at Mitchelltown. He was remanded till the 30th inst. In consequence of Perrott's critical condition his depositions were taken. In answer to Williams, he denied having struck him first. He did not know he was stabbed till some time after receiving the blow. Mr P. Deloree, a Belgian settler, aged 70, dropped d?ad ys hile playing in a draughts tournament at Pahiatm, on Friday.
