WHARE FLAT.
On Thursday evening Mr Ralph A. Ewing, who is leaving the Whare Flat district for the purpose of proceeding on a business visit to pimerica, was presented-by the members of the school committee with a case containing two jjaandsome pipes. In making the presentation, Mr M'Quilian, in the unavoidable absence of Ihe chairman (Mr Dodds), referred to the great interest taken by Mr Ewing in the affairs of jtlie school, and to the many valuable services tendered by him, both as chairman and as a pieinber of the committee.
