FRUIT CAKE
One pound of butter, lAlb currants, lib raisins, *}lb mixed peel, lib sugar, a handful of blanched almonds, one teaspoonful of baking soda, one teaspoonful and a half of cream of tartar, 14 eggs, 21b flour, one packet of mixed spice. The almonds are blanched by pouring boiling water over them.
