TROTTING TALK.

Uaving had a few hours to spare, I thought I would take a ride out ps far as Tp.huna Park and see what was being done on that track. The caretaker has the course in fairly good order for working, and the trniners have nothing to complain of in that re-pect. Pringle has arrived from Gore with his team, and is now hard at work. Ris team comprise? Candidate. Edith, and Peak. The former is looking well, but is short of work, hsvinc only rscently been put in training. The black pony is very healthy looking, while Peak has only been harnessed up twice in a sulky ; but, nevertheless, is in fair order.

Cocky (who was recently purchased by Mr James M'Kewen), Darby, and Ruahine are undergoing a preparation. The former is a good-looking horse, and, with time, phould turn out a fast trotter. Darby is looking better than I have seen him, and is striding alone 1 very nicely ; while the same may be said cf the black mare. Geo. M. Patchem has arrived, in charge of Jack Crossan, and is now hard at work. M. Allan has kept Premier up to the collar in view of future events. I understand that these horses now training at the Park are entered for the Canterbury Trotting Club's meeting, which eventuates in National week.
