GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKET.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. rrport: — Oats. — We submitted an average catalogue of eiedium, to good, f eeci oats. There was a fair r.t-
tendance of buyers, and under fair competition the catalogue was cleared at quotations. We quote: Prime milling Is 6d to Is 7d, good to best feed Is 4d to Is sd, medium Is* 3d to Is 4d per bushel (sacks extra).
Wheat. — Prime milling is in fair demand, at late quotations. Medium quality, which has been quite neglected for some time, commands the attention of shippers, and late values for fowl wheat are well maintained. We quote: Prime milling 2s 5d to 2s 6£d per bushel (sacks in), medium 2s Id to 2s 4d, v/nole fowl wheat Is lid to 2s, broken, etc., Is Dd to Is lOd. Potatoes. — The market is well supplied, and in the absence of demand from outßide markets there is no improvement in prices. We quote:: Best Derwents £1 15s to £2, others £1 10s to £1 15s per ton (sacks in). Chaff. — Prime oaten sheaf c mmands inquiry, but medium a.nd inferior sorts are not in request. We quote: Best oaten sheaf £2 10s to £2 los, medium to good £2 to £2 7s 6d per ton (bags extra).
Messrs A. Moritzson and Co. report having held their usual weekly sale of grain and produce yesterday morning. There was a poor attendance of buyers present, and competition for all lines "vvp.s dull.
Wheat. — There is a good inquiry for prime lines of milling, but medium qualities are hard to place. "We quote: Prime velvet and Tuscan 2s 6d to 2s 6£d, medium 2s 3d to 2s sd, fowl feed Is lOd to Is ]ld per bushel. Oats. — There is now some demand for good feed lines, but prices are very low. Best feed are worth Is sd, medium ]s 4d to Is 4ftd, inferior Is 2d to Is 3Jd per bushel. Potatoes.— Market glutted.— Best Oarnarugrown are selling from 35s to 37s 6d per ton, southern 32s 6d to 35s per ton. Chaff. — Only prime oaten has any attention, and sells from £2 7s 6d to £2 10s, other qualities from £1 15s to £2 5s per ton.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having held their usual weekly auction sale to-day, when there was the usual attendance of buyers. Oats, — The -market still remains -very dull, and the only demand is for bright feed sorts. We quote: Prime milling Is ci to Is 7d, good to best feed Is 4d to Is sd, fair tc medium Is 23. to Is 3d (bags extra). Wheat. — Theie has been a letter demand for prime milling during the past week, but prices are unchanged. Prime velvet Mid Tuscan 2s 5d to 2s 6|d, medium 2s 2d to 2s 4d, fowl feed Is lOd to 2s (bags in). Potatoes. — The market is still over-supplied, and sales are difficult to effect, even at last week's rates:— Prime'Derweats to 40s, kidney* to 30s (bags in). Chaff. — There is a good demand for prime oatw chaff, but medium finality is in oversupply. We quote: Prime "from £2 10s to £2 Iss, medium to good £2 2s Cd to £2 7s 6d, inferior to £2. ' •
