From a correspondent we learn that the Gore club h-as received a decided impetus this year, some 20 new members having been enrolled, and the game is Iramniing. They should now be able to hold their own against any club in the colony up to 30 a side. Two handicap tourneys are being got vm4 e i" w®Xr±,

firit and second class. The club season opened auspiciously on Monday evening, 11th inst., when a match was played between teams picked by the president (Mr W. Domigan) and one of the vice-presidents (Mr J. Mac Gibbon). The president's side won by four games, after a very enjoyable evening's play. The following ara the scores: —

On,' the 18th inst. the second match among the members took place. Mr G.
