OTAGO RUGBY UNION.
At a special general meeting of the O.R.F.U. held on Monday, the Toko (Milton) and Peninsula (Portobello) Clubs were affiliated to the union as junior clubs.
The usual weekly meeting of the committee of the O.R.F.U. was held on Monday. There were _ present — Messrs "Wilson (president), Morris, Duncan, Harris, Hutchison, Isaacs, Macassey, M'Laren, and Campbell. It was decided that the Otago team should play at least four matches on the northern tour — ■ against Canterbury, Wellington, Taranaki, and Auckland. The secretary was instructed to communicate with the various unions and suggest the following dates: — Canterbury, August 25 ; Auckland, September 1 ; Taranaki, September 5; Wellington, September 8. It was decided that, if the date suits the Southland Union, the Otago team should play the first match at Inyercargill on August 22. The question of playing a fifth match during the northern tour was left in abeyance. The Flag Committee reported that the match ZingariRichmond Second v. University Second had been won by the latter club by default. The secretary of the Zingari-Richmond Club wrote enclosing the 5s fine on account of his club having failed to put a team in the field. The secretary reported that the City Council had granted permission to the O.R.F.U. to use the " Clear " for football purposes. In connection with the application of the Wniversity Club for a return of the jerseys lent by the club to the O.R.F.U. last season, it was decided to pay for the jerseys and knickers missing. A complaint from the secretary of the Southern Club that its First Fifteen had not yet liad a match on its own ground was referred to the Flag Committee.
