GREEN ISLAND BOWLING AND LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
In the Council Chambers, Green Island, kindly lent by the Mayor (Mr Joseph EnFor), the local Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club held their annual meeting on Friday evening, Mr G. B. Smith (ihe president) in the chair, and there was a good attendance of member, 0 . The report and balance sheet were read and adopted, after which fie following gentlemen were elected as office-bearers for the ensuing season : — President, Mr G. B. Smith ; vicepresidents, Messrs J. H. SmeUie and D. Buchanan; secretary, Mr Lindsay Miller; treasurer, -Mr James Miller ; Committee of Management — Messrs A. Young, D. Wntters. D. Buchanan, A. Falconer, H. Stotl ; auditor, Mr W. A. Fastier. On the motion of Mr E. R. Green, seconded by Mr H. Harraway. it was unanimously repolved that the services of an expert be engaged to supervise and assist in lop-dressing the green. On the motion of Mr J. H. Smellie, seconded by Mr Gleeson, it was unanfniouply resolved that steps be taken lo have the green squared, and thai the matter bo left in the hands of the committee and tho expert selected. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of shanks lo the president.
