After his Excellency had retired, a mes-. , sage was received from the Governor notify- ' ing 'that leave of absence had been granted j to .the Hon. Francis Arkwright for the session. Other messages notified the resignation ; of the Hon. Colonel Pitt and the summoning of Mr A. J. Cadman, Colonel Pitt, Messrs j J. E. Jenkinson, and Johnßigg. The three last-named members were sworn in.

Colonel PITT gave notice of his intention to move the Address-in-Reply. The Council then adjourned.
