MURDER ON THE HIGH SEAS.
PERTH, May 16. At the. Police Court six Filipinos were charged with the murder of the captain of the schooner Ethel in October last. The evidence of the Chinese cook and cabin boy showed that the prisoners were much blood-stained when they came to the galley and called the cook. They warned him to remain quiet, and said that Peter Perez had stabbed the captain while he was looking at the chart. Hogo said that he «had killed the carpenter, the captain, and his s,on, and that the three bodies were lashed together by a chain and thrown overboard. Peter told the crew that he had shot all three because they had tried to shoot him. At Adoct, in the
Tinimber Islands, the schooner wa _ scuttled, and the prisoners toM the polic that they had killed the captain, his son "and the carpenter in self-defence, and sub sequently that they killed an aborigina | and a Japanese for disobedience.
s Carl, killing seven and wounding five pere sons, desperately attacked the detectives , who arrested him. % He confessed that--he - ,had deliberately planned to avenge himl self on mankind. The poor creature died .. , .insane.
