CHANGES AND PROMOTIONS. 1 . WELLINGTON, May 17. The vacancies that have recently occurred' in the magistracies have been mostly filled up by the promotion of experienced clerks G£ courts. Mr W. A. Barton, of Gisborne, f^ acceeds the late Mr Booth there ; Air Northcroft, S.M. for the Wairarapa, tdkes ihe place of Mr Jackson, who retires from Wa-ikato ; and Mr TV. P. James, clerk of ourl at Wellington, becomes S.M. for L'ae Wairarapa. Mr M'Carthy, S.M. at Clyde, Jills Mr Poynton's vacancy at fnvercargill, «md Mr F. J. Burgess, clerk at Auckland, ,will be S.M. at Clyde. Mr J. M'Ennis, clerk al Ivumara. has been appointed K.M. at Naseby,' vice Mr JJalijleish, deceased.
