HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Hospital Trustees, held on the 16th, was attended by Messrs P. Miller (chairman), J. Green, W. Wright, J. Carroll, S. Myers, W. "Wills, and J. Smith.

The Finance Committee reported that salaries and accounts for the month of April, amounting to £706 2s 6d, were eximined and passed |or paymeni, subject to the approval of the trustees. The receipts for April were as follows : —In-patients, £109 7s 4d; out-patients, £d 4s 8d; sales, £5 11s; subscription box, 6s; donation, £2 2s; Russell Trust, £B;— total, £134 11s. The committee recommended that application be made to the Hospital Board for the iisual monthly contribution of £450. — The report was adopted.

Mr G. Joachim wrote forwarding a. donation of £% 2s to the hospital funds. — Received with thanks.

" The return of the out-patient department showed a total attendance for the month, of April of 539 cases. In the corresponding month of last year there were 548 cases ; in 1898, 638 cases; and in 1897, 731 cases. — Received.

The Eegistrar of the Otago University wrote stating that the additional amount of d£2o asked for the trustees would be_ foithcor^iDg, in addi-

tion to the amount of £100 already promised ia March, for the erection of a morgue. — The donation was received, and if-"was resolved that the House Committee submit plans and. specifications of the morgue for the approval of the next meeting of trustees. ' ' "
